Is there a beginning?

"In the beginning"... This is an interesting phrase. It assumes that time is linear, with a beginning and an end.

Creationists are very fond of the argument that "something can't be created from nothing", which is their own wrong interpretation of what the Theory of Big Bang is. Yet, they fail to answer the question "Who created god, then?". It is interesting that, in Ancient Egyptian mythology, taking into account the cosmogony of the god Atum, god created himself out of Nun, the name given to what existed before the universe, a giant soup of chaos. But then, if a religious person can believe that god came into existence by itself, why does it argue against the Theory of Big Bang, in which the universe didn't form out of nothing, but of existing matter.

I can't remember the name of the greek who said this, but it defines very well what god is:

"God is made in human image, because we are the ones who created him. If cows had gods, their gods would be made in cow's image."

Do other animals have gods? No. Why are we the most intelligent then, if we fail constantly to see reason?
